Suggest Treatment For HP Virus Shown In Pap Test

Hello doctor. I am worried since I had a pap test . There was some bleeding on the cervix and I have felt very tired for months now ( all winter). It takes 4 weeks to get the results back so it is causing me to feel worried and depressed. In 1998 I had a positive pap test and found out I had the HP virus. My ex-husband had passed it to me unfortunately. Then I had a lazer treatment , still a positive pap test and therefore a cone biopsy. Following this the tests were negative.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Unfortunately, there is no treatment that can cure an HPV infection. It is good news though that the checks after the cone biopsy come out negative. You will need to have regular checks with your doctor and strictly follow his recommendations to prevent cervical cancer.

I hope this answers your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj
