Suggest Treatment For Hepatitis B And C In A Elderly Women

My mom jus found out she had Hep B and Hep C. She is 60 years old and likely contracted the viruses during drug use in her teens. Doctors said the viruses appear to be dormant. I am 32 years. No signs or symptoms. How worried should I be about contracting them during birth?

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Since it is not possible to know when the viruses were contracted then it is possible that she may have gotten them after your birth.

It is possible , if she was already infected when she became pregnant that you may have been infected.
You can consider testing to determine your status.

I hope this helps
