Hi,

Drug treatment of PCOD includes....

Clomiphene (Clomid). This oral anti-estrogen medication is taken during the first part of your menstrual cycle.
Letrozole... This breast cancer treatment can work to stimulate the ovaries.
Metformin. ...and
Gonadotropins.

To help decrease the effects of PCOS, try to:
Maintain a healthy weight. Weight loss can reduce insulin and androgen levels and may restore ovulation.

Limit carbohydrates. Low-fat, high-carbohydrate diets might increase insulin levels.

Be active. Exercise helps lower blood sugar levels.
Fix Your Gut. Avoid fatty food and junk. Eat raw veggies and fruits.
Eat Real Food rich of fiber.
Eat Antioxidant-Rich Foods like fish for omega 3 fatty acids
Manage Your Stress. Meditate, do yoga or go for counseling.
Get rid of obesity and maintain ideal body weight

Fertility treatments are available to help women get pregnant. There is nothing wrong in going for IUI. Here your partner's sperm will be injected in your cervix after you have been stimulated for ovulation. You will be asked to lie down for 20 minutes and can go home thereafter. Fertilization and implantation occur naturally. No anesthesia or surgery or incision...just a way to help in the meeting of sperm and ova when they are not being able to do so, naturally.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
