Suggest Treatment For PCOD

Hi Doc,

My name is Shobana. I am 30 years old and have been married for over 5 yrs. For so many yrs i have been getting my menses regularly but last year did not get it for about 8 months and then got it very heavy for 20 days. My mistake was that i ignored the problem when i skipped my menses and consulted after getting it for 20 days.

The gynecologist asked to me to get the Ultra sound test and also gave me medicines for Diabetics. I went for the test and was told that i have pcod. They also asked me to go for a thyroid test, the results of which were negative. I was told about the symptoms of pcod - acne (i dont have), over weight (my height is 5.7 and weight is 62 kgs), excessive hair growth (not so much in my case), probability of getting diabetics (i have started getting boils on my leg) and when consulted a doc he told me it is bcos of increased blood sugar. I do not consume sugar in excess but i used to eat chocolates. I have now stopped eating sweet and have gone on a complete diet. I used to smoke, i have quit now (its been over 3 mnths). Please suggest what do i do to get my menses regularly as last i got it in the 4th week of August.

thanks
shobana
