Suggest Treatment For PCOS And Irregular Periods

Hi..i have irregular period and i found out having a polycystic ovary syndrome a year ago.Took a pill for a year and stopped.I have been experiencing a urinary tract infection and stopped taking medication in the past 3 months. I used to take food supplement but stopped it too when i suspect something wrong is happening in my body.My period could be around 23-25 of December 2013.Having irregular period,i thought the brown discharge appeared on 28 of December that just 3-5 liquid drops was my period. Mistakenly had unprotected sex the night after and not ready of being pregnant , i took the day after pill. Brown discharge with clots that comes and goes begun 5 days ago. Don t notice it either as i wipe after peeing. When i have my bowel movement,i notice bleeding (red color) from my vagina. I don t experience any pain except the sore tender breast that started 2 weeks ago.At night i feel so cold and feeling my body temperature decrease. I have a bloated stomach as i always believe for the cause of cyst. Last week ,for some hours i experienced chest pain. Sometimes i feel there is a bubble in my stomach.I have a very light (not so evident) pelvic unlike a year ago when i was diagnosed for a Polycystic ovary syndrome. What is happening to my body...this time i m not sure. Please need your help.Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi

I suggest you to resume treatment for polycystic ovaries.Any increase in cyst size or new cyst formation must be ruled out with a pelvic ultrasound.

Hypothyroidism can also cause irregular periods.Thyroid levels should be checked. Before which you should take an urine test to rule out pregnancy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards
