Suggest Treatment For PCOS Related Anxiety And Excessive Unwanted Hair Growth
Hello! Please, I d like to know about treatment for PCOS which has apparently also caused excess hair growth and irritability, mood swings, depression...weight also seems less easy than before. Periods are regular I guess, but cycle is long, 35-36 days. I am most concerned about reversing virilization (excess body hair, some hair thinning on head).
I can understand your concern. All your symptoms definitely suggest the presence of PCOS and its treatment will cure all your issues including virilization.
PCOS can be treated by birth control pills after assessing the level of sex hormones (LSH. FSH, LH) in your blood. Metformin can also be given for the treatment, again based on the hormone level.
I would advise you to visit your gynecologist and start the hormone replacement therapy that is best suited for your case. In few months, you will start noticing reduction in your symptoms related to PCOS.
I hope this answer helps you. Thank you for choosing HCM. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
