Suggest Treatment For PCOS While On Provera

My obgyn thinks I have pcos but haven t been able to get viable samples for tests. Started me on provera on the 10th for 10 days. Started my period the other day and it s been pretty light. It got heavier today and just a little bit ago I soaked through a super tampon in about a half hour to an hour, put in a super plus hoping that would work better, soaked through in 10 minutes! Huge clots (I m talking one was about 4-5 inches long and 1-2 inches wide). Is this normal for my first period since starting provera or do I need to go to the emergency room? Also have cramping and a headache(which I rarely get) and I have been extremely tired in the last week especially the past couple days

Hi, I think if you are suspecting pcod, it can be confirmed by a ultrasound for follicles in your ovaries. If follicles are too many in number and peripherally arranged, it is a sign of pcos. For now, I think you may need some medicines like Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. Cramping can be a menstrual symptoms. Headache can be due to loss of blood and weakness. Take some iron supplements. Heavy bleeding can come sometimes if periods are delayed for long. You should take some hormonal treatment if your periods are irregular. Also check thyroid profile and prolactin levels. Hope I have answered your question.
