Hello and welcome to HCM, Poly-cystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is characterised deranged hormones (low estrogen, high testosterone, high LH:FSH ratio) and absence of ovulation. Stress is not a causative factor for PCOS. PCOS is caused by hormonal imbalance. PCOS is a treatable disease. You need to consult your gynecologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management. A follicular scan and levels of blood hormones is required for diagnosing the condition. Depending on the level of hormones, further treatment can be planned.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
