Suggest Treatment For TB

Hi, My wife struggled with pneumonia when our kid was 6 month old.
She was admitted to hospital and later with sputum test detected as pulmonary tuberculosis.

She later recovered from pneumonia and for TB still undergoing treatment.
We consulted doctor for our kid and doctor started a tablet solonex dt 100 mg.

I want to know is this treatment right?

Hi!
Welcome to HCM! Absolutely right!!!
It is hoped that your wife is responding to the treatment for TB. Since TB is highly contagious and the infection can spread through coughing, sneezing, by means of droplets in the cough.
Since your infant will be in close contact with your wife, so the infant should also be protected against the TB.
Usually a single drug Sonolex is administered in the form of Dispersable Tablet 100mg daily for six months. The treatment should be strictly adhered. And all the house hold contacts should be given the same Sonolex for a period of about six months.

Hope you got the clarification regarding the prevention of TB in your infant.
Regards!
