I was recently diagnosed with Thygeson's, and I was wondering if being diagnosed with that means that it is exclusive to the eye that currently has symptoms or if it can cause symptoms in both eyes? I was also wondering if there are any know causes for Thygeson's?
Hello It seems from the history that you are diagnosed with Thygesons disease. It is a type of superficial superior limbic keratoconjunctivitis. The treatment of the condition is by use of steroid eye drops and artificial tears eye drops. Sometimes it is associated with thyroid problem hence it requires thyroid evaluation. Otherwise no need to worry it will respond to treatment. Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
