Suggest Treatment For UTI While On Norflox TZ

I m 32yrs old. Although I am overweight, I have very regular period every month. My period lasts for 4days total. Last month I had my period on 7th Oct. Q week later I developed a mild uti or yeast infection. Although the urine routine and culture report showed no bacteria, symptoms of uti were there - burning while urinating and itching. I was advised to just drink a lot of water and flush it out but that didn t quite seem to help. So I did a 5day norflox tz course. I also had alkasol for a few days after that. My uti or uti like symptoms cleared up totally. This month I was expected to get my period by 9th (usually I get it 30-32 days). But it s already the 15th and no sign of period yet. What s going on?

Hello,

Sometimes its totally normal to have delayed periods due to mental stress or when the body is under stress due to some illness when the cause is not pregnancy related. You said you had UTI recently and after taking medicine for that and the issue was resolved.

Whenever a patient comes to me with similar symptoms and history, I advice her to wait for a month at least as it can be a result of stress. Even after that the periods won’t start then, I suggest her to visit a gynecologist and explain her all history. After doing physical examination she might advice you to do some blood tests or imaging tests if needed to know the underlying cause behind the issue. As well as she might suggest you some medicines that will help to resolve the problem.

Another thing is, you said you weigh more than normal. its very important to do exercise regularly to bring the weight in appropriate range. Sometimes the weight has effects on regular menstruation.

Hope this helps. Feel free to contact for further queries.

Regards,
