Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello. I have been treated with 2 rounds of Cipro for what looks to be UTI but I am still feeling the same symptoms with no improvement. My labs are below. Is there anything you can advise? Thank you! RBC, MICROSCOPY 0-2 A BACTERIA, GENITAL, WET PREPARATION 1+ EPITHELIAL CELLS, GENITAL, WET PREPARATION Moderate A WBC,GENITAL, WET PREPARATION. 2-5
Hello and welcome to HCM, The genital wet preparation is showing presence of red blood cells, few white blood cells and few epithelial cells. Presence of few red blood cells and white blood cells are normal and does not signify any severe infection. However, since you are experiencing symptoms of urinary tract infection, I suggest you to get a urine culture followed by drug sensitivity in case the culture turns out to be positive. Consult your primary healthcare provider for investigations and thus management.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
