Suggest Treatment For UTI

Diagnosed with Klebseilla UTI 2 wks. ago. Was prescribed Bactrim. Took for 7 days. Seemed to be cleared up. Had intercourse right after, and the next day, the UTI was back. Symptoms are frothy urine, grey-tinged, cloudy color, foul odor, slight burning. Now, 4 days later, urine is not very foamy anymore, but still smelly and very cloudy and grey. Does this sound like klebseilla again, or something else? I have Macrobid that I can take (a few months old) while I await results of urine culture. The Bactrim I took didn't seem to kill off all the bacteria...might Macrobid be more effective? I get UTIs almost every month, always right after intercourse. My husband and I have been married for over 40 years, and due to these UTIs, we only have intercourse once a week. Even so, they usually result in my getting a UTI. I am so fed up with practically living on antibiotics. Pls. help. Thank you.

You are getting repeated episodes of UTI especially after intercourse .

Are you diabetic?
Does your husband has UTI or Prostatitis?

You need to eradicate infection by taking appropriate antibiotic as per culture report for adequate period of time till you have no urinary symptoms and your successive urine culture is negative.

Get urine culture of your husband done to rule out whether he has UTI.

Ensure to drink more water to keep your urine dilute .
