Hello

Welcome in H.C.M.

I have gone through your query regarding management of blocked nose. Here I would like to tell you that nasal blockade is a very common nasal symptom and is caused by any or all of these-

1- Swelling (oedema) of nasal mucosa.

2- Enlarged (hypertrophied) turbinates.

3- Nasal polyps.

4- Grossly deviated nasal septum.

All above has got their separate clinical findings and are easily diagnosed by ENT doctor, and all above may be manage also very successfully by your ENT doctor. The Otrivin nasal drop is very good nasal decongestant and gives quick responce but ideally in treatment real cause of obstruction should be diagnosed and treated to give full relief to patient. Only use of otrivin for prolong period may develop RHINITIS MEDICAMENTOSA, which becomes difficult to treat may be manage by your ENT doctor.

Regards.
