Suggest Treatment For A Boil On The Gum Below Root Canal Site

I have a boil on the gum, just beneath my root canal site.It comes & vanishes on its own. This has started occuring in recent past.Once I pricked it & cleared the pus in it,it became clear. But it occurs quite frequently.By any chance,is it cancerous??And its cure?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern....

As per your complain in case if you have got a root canal treatment done and there is formation of pus filled blister in that area it is a clear indication that there is infection below the root tips of the tooth which is causing pus formation and there is formation of a PERIAPICAL ABSCESS and the pus formation at times perforates the bone and appears below the soft tissues and appears as a blister..
You need not to worry as it is due to infection and not at all any sign of cancer..
As you are cleaning it there is a channel formed for discharge of pus but it is not a permanent solution and you should consult a dentist and get evaluated and get an x ray done to rule out that whether the root canal filling is intact or there is some deficiency in the treatment.
In case if the root canal is fine then a course of antibiotics like Augmentin 625 mg thrice daily, if there is pain then Ibuprofen 400mg thrice a day and Pantoprazole 40mg once in morning empty stomach can be taken for 5 days and in case if the infection resolves it is fine and in case if it does not resolve then either re-root canal treatment or extraction depending upon the condition of the tooth can be planned by the dentist..

Hope this information helps..
