I have a brown patch under my big toenail for approx 3 weeks...that's when I first noticed it. It hasn't grown out with my toenail. I've used a topical chemotherapy treatment about 5 years ago for my nose for a possible pre cancerous lesion. I'm wondering what this brown patch might be
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have brown patch under the toe . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like excess amount of sugar in the blood , kidney and heart problems , diabetes , arsenic poisoning , injury or infection . I would suggest you to keep your foot clean and dry , keep your foot in hot water tub with espom salt for 15 minutes daily and lower your sugar consumption . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order blood test , CT scan or physical examination . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also refer you to endocrinologist for diabetes. Do not wear shoe for few days .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
