Suggest Treatment For A Bruised Knee

I have been told that I have a bruised knee bone on the inside of my left knee. The pain is horrific. I was first told I had a blood clot behind my knee bones but tests revealed nothing. I have had a steroid shot and three gel shots and have not had any relief. Could you please give me some idea what is causing me such pain? Thanks Wilma YYYY@YYYY

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It is difficult to say without any X-rays or blood tests. There are many possibilities for knee pain, e.g. purulent arthritis, fracture, arthrosis, gout, etc. You should see either your family doctor, an orthopedic surgeon, a rheumatologist or the ER if you are feeling generally ill.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
