I am a teacher, and I dropped a heavy plastic container on my foot which resulted in a very large contusion. X-rays at urgent care showed there were no broken bones, but the medical personnel were very surprised nothing was broken. Swelling has gone down significantly, yet after 3 weeks, I am still not able to wear normal shoes as the bump is still about an inch or so in diameter, slightly red, and very tender. The urgent care doctor said to get the foot checked after a couple of weeks and get it x-rayed again because there is the possibility of stress fractures that may not show up for several weeks. When I get up in the morning, the foot is still somewhat sore, and it takes a few minutes for me to put my weight on it. What do you think? I didn t realize I had to pay for an answer. Sorry to bother you. I will go to my regular doctor next week.. If you feel like writing to me anyway, thank you.
