Suggest Treatment For A Bump On The Head Of A Child

My 6 months old son fell off my bed a week ago when he was sleeping in the morning. The height of the bed is about 20 inches, the floor is hard wood floor. He cried a little bit after the fall. After the cry, everything looks fine except there s bump on the head where it hit the floor, I guess. It seems like pain for him because when he lying on this side. But just one day, he didn t feel painful any more when you touch the bump area. He didn t have any vomiting after the fall. But the bump got bigger today. We didn t go to ER because he shows normal. Does he hit the bone? What s the reason for the bump? Will it go away?

welcome to healthcaremagic.com and myself Dr Atishay Bukharia would be answering your questions..

the bump is due to the trauma, if there is no colour changes then there is no need to worry. bluish discoloration can indicate the presence of Hematoma in that bump. there is no need to worry as it will subside by its own within 6 to 8 weeks

hope it helps
