Suggest Treatment For A Bump On The Head

hi, i have a large bump on the front middle of my head. it's approximately 1 inch i diammeter and raised about 4mm. i had a friend who is a nurse take a look at it and she said it has a strange velcro feeling to it but she had never seen anything like it before. help?
