Suggest Treatment For A Bump On The Lower Buttock

About 4 days ago, I found this little bump , lump , nodule , (whatever you want to call it) on my left butt cheek, down at the very bottom (where you sit) and right where the two butt cheeks meet each other. It doesn t hurt, only when I press it, I feel a slight sensation of pain. What can this be? Should see my doctor?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
This is due to skin infection of hair follicles. A weakened immune system also enlarges the possibility of having such bump. Most of the time, bumps do not require immediate medical assistance. To treat your bump on buttocks at home, several things can be done:
1.     Apply mupirocin cream (T – Bact cteam) locally three times daily
2.     Always promote hygiene - Wearing loose pants or shorts will help you cope with the painful bump on buttock. Sterilizing the infected areas with rubbing alcohol also helps promote sufficient hygiene. Wear disinfect underwear and take a shower with medicated soap might help eliminating harmful bacteria.
3.     Compresses - Give a warm water compress onto your bump to promote proper blood circulation around the infected area
Thanks
