Suggest Treatment For A Fatty Bump On The Head

about three years ago I had something fall off a shelf in the living room and hit me on the head...I still have a small bump from it...I asked my PCP about it and he said its, I cant remember the medical term, basically a fatty bump from the injury and he can remove it...I want to have it removed but am terrified...what kind of doctor should generally do this? my PCP said he can do it right in his office...and how do they do this? Do they numb it first? Does it require stitches?? Thanks..
