Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had a panic attack some years back associated with choking. It got really bad, but with patience and practice I am better than I was before. I have beaten or improved most aspects of my life except for a fear of choking. I know there is nothing wrong with me and it is all in my head. It doesn t control me, but it does cause me problems at times.
In panic disorder, you need antidepressant like paroxetine. That would help to control panic attacks as well as apprehension about further attacks. You have to consult a psychiatrist for prescription as this drug is not available over the counter. You can also use low dose benzodiazepine on sos basis or relaxation exercise that would keep you calm. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
