Suggest Treatment For A Finger Nail Fungus And Yeast Infection

I was diagnosed with a finger nail fungus and yeast infection and went on Fluconozole for about a year. My nails showed improvement but reverted as soon as I come off the medication. I had a second biopsy which came back only yeast infection. My nails are currently tender and attached with little nail bed. What are my options?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

It seems that you may be having onychomycosis with paronychia. It is a fungal infection of nail with bacterial infection of surrounding skin. You consult dermatologist and have investigations to rule out any immunocompromised condition or DM. Poor immunity might be responsible for the relapse. Itroconazole or ketoconazole may be taken for few months after consulting dermatologist. Apply clotrimazole lotion on nail till good result. Treatment of underlying disorder may be taken from physician. You may become alright after few months treatment. I hope you got my answer.

Thanks.
