Suggest Treatment For A Hard Lump With Discoloration Of Skin On Leg
Hi I banged the front of my leg on thefibia it is now in a hard lump and very tender to touch, slight discolouring of skin this happened over a week ago. I spoke to the pharmist and he told me to put cold compression on it which gave relief, also spoke to the nurse a at my gp s, she advised to put a surgical stocking on it which Iam doing. I am a bit worried as flying on the26th may.
Hi Thanks for writing in. What you have there is most probably just a bruise or at the most a haematoma. It will take a normal course of 1 week to 10 days for it to heal and for the skin to go back to normal colour. You might feel some minor pain for about a week. But there's nothing to worry about it.
Once a couple of days have passed, please switch to warm compressions as it dilates the vessels and helps in resolution of the haematoma quicker. You may also take pain killers as and when required. Please remember not to overdose yourself with the painkillers.
Hope this helps! Please do let me know if you have any more questions!
