Suggest Treatment For A Large Red Patch On The Face
Hi doctor I use diluted dettol for my face as there was a pimple on it and after two hours there was a huge red patch. I washed it off and put Vaseline. The next day the skin peeled off and now there is a reddish pink patch which started bleeding only for a short bit. It doesn t burn much at all but I m just worried if it will leave a scar after it heals. Will it? Thanks,

As per your query you have large red patch on the face . The symptoms you mention in query are pointing towards a condition known as contact dermatitis. There are certain things which can irritate your skin and cause allergy and scaly patches like perfumes ,dyes and extreme weather . I would suggest you to wash your face several times a day with normal fresh water , avoid applying any makeup or cosmetic , take over the counter antihistamine drugs and anti inflammatory drugs , apply only calamine lotion and apply cold compresses on face .If condition doesn't get better in 2-3 days then consult dermatologist for proper examination and rule out other condition like psoriasis. Doctor may prescribe steroid cream or antibiotics.
