Suggest Treatment For A Lump On The Back Side Of The Wrist
i had the area around my backside of my wrist to become swollen with a raised knot which is very noticeable .. there is pain associated with it. and there is a bluish color looks as if a vein around the bottom. it is really sore to the touch and has some degree of pain. it seems to keep swelling farther out from the knot itself. it looks very veined . is this a reason for concern?
Hi It is a cause for concern but not to be too concerned since it is not an emergency yet.A painful lump on the back of the wrist could be caused by many medical conditions some of which are: wrist inflammation from a infection or injury/reactive stress, wrist arthritis/osteoarthritis, ganglion cyst, connective tissue disorder, just to name a few. With all these causes, only an examination of the Lump by a Doctor can reveal the exact cause.Treatment of the condition will depend on the cause.Treatment options may include pain medications, antibiotics if of infectious origin or surgery.I will suggest you get the lump examined by the Doctor. In the meantime, pain or antiinflammatory medications like ibuprofen may help you feel better. Hope my answer will help you Best regards
