General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is due to calf muscle spasms. It can be due to overexertion, dehydration, over or underuse of muscles.

It needs rest/hot pack/plenty of water with salt&sugar/calcium, vitamin E supplement.

In case there is no relief, muscle relaxants can be helpful, after the physical examination (to exclude other problems like deep vein thrombosis). Please consult your family doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
