For about 4 years now I ve had a hard lump about 2 inches above my knee cap. If my knee cap is 12 then the lump is at about 1. Any kind of strenuous activity causes minor swelling but severe pain. It s about the size of a golf ball. Taking ibuprofen helps to make it tolerable, and I m on a prescription 1000 mg (2x500mg ibuprofen pills) and with that only makes it tolerable. Lately the pain has gotten worse. About a year after I noticed it I went and got x-rays done and they told me it didn t show up so nothing was wrong with the bone. I don t have insurance just yet so I m looking for something I can do to help manage the pain a little better.
Hi, dear. I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern. You have lumo in your thigh. X ray doesn't show any connection to bone. So it must be of soft tissue origin. It may be arise from muscle or fat or nerve. You should go for fine needle aspiration cytology. It will give you exact diagnosis whether it is benign or malignant and from where it arise. Then you should take treatment accordingly. Till that you can take analgesic to releive pain according to your doctor's advice. Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
