Suggest Treatment For A Muscle Tear In The Knee

I was bowling this last Thursday (3/10) and felt a snap or pop in the back of my left (sliding) knee with immediate pain and there is a large circular black and blue area on the back of that knee. What is the likely injury and do I need to do anything or just rest it, etc? It is still quite sore and black and blue, but I am able to walk on it with some discomfort (more general soreness and stiffness, but no instability. Thanks!

Hi.

Ligament injury more likely, and I would first recommend an MRI to find the exact injury and then direct treatment. Please visit a doctor as ligament injuries need medical attention.

Best wishes.
