Suggest Treatment For A Painful Bump On The Testicle

My almost 13 yr old has a small, pea-sized bubble on his testicle. He has been able to have normal activity, but when he bumps it, its painful. It appeared a few days afo and he only showed me now...Do I go to the ER? A urologist? His pediatrician?

Hi
Your 13year old son could probably have a hydrocoel or a hernia and this can only be found out clinically or by an ultrasound of abdomen pelvis. You need not rush to the ER for this and it's pretty normal to be painful whenever he bumps on it. However this requires surgery usually and it is a simple operation so you need not be worried. I suggest you go visit a general surgeon for this.

Hope this helps.
