Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump On The Buttock
I have a very painful lump the size of a walnut on my rear end from a fall onto some rocks I took 2 weeks ago. The bruise covered my entire right buttock and tailbone area. I am unable to sit or have any kind of pressure against the lump. Is this something that should dissolve in time?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful lump on the buttock . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like trauma , coagulopathy , anticoagulant medications , mongolian spot , local infection , STD or hematoma . I would suggest you to apply cold compresses , keep the site clean and dry , apply over the counter antibiotics ointment and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen rfor pain . If condition doesn't get well then consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may drain the hematoma , prescribe antibiotics like clindamycin or antifungal depending upon the diagnosis along with anti inflammatory . Doctor may also recommend surgical excision.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
