On Feb. 23, 2016, I was leaning on my elbow and all at once it felt like a small ball in my elbow which was a bit painful because it had a domino effect and then over the next five days, it was swollen and my forearm turned black, green & purple and when I went to emergency, the doctor there just checked it and told me that I had bursted a blood vessel and that I would be fine, but did no blood work. I still have some swelling in elbow and a fluid bubble in elbow which I think should get checked out ....what s going on? It irritates me at times and is rather painful if I hit my arm or elbow against something!!!! I
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful lump on the elbow . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like dermoid cyst , bone cyst , boil/ furuncle / or infective origin . I would suggest you to apply warm compresses on lumps several times a day , do not massage lumps and take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain . Consult general surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order x-ray or CT scan or hand , doctor may also take sample for lab test . Doctor may prescribe antibiotics along with antiinflammatory at least for 5 days . Doctor may also recommend surgical removal of lumps under local anesthesia in case of severe infection or may simply drain the puss . Do not massage it .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
