Suggest Treatment For A Painful Lump On The Face

My husband can feel a lump on his face near his ear which seems bony and raised when he opens and closes his mouth. The lump is much larger on one side than the other. He has seen a doctor, who does not know what it is and has said he would get back if it could be problematic. This was about a month ago., but the lump though it hasn't got any bigger is still there. it is not in in any way painful .

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a lump in front of the ear can be due to swollen parotid gland caused due to infection or obstruction in the duct of the gland or can be due to other reasons like swollen lymph node, a sebaceous cyst or a lipoma..
But a confirmatory diagnosis needs a thorough clinical evaluation and if required an FNAC/Biopsy can help in diagnosis..
I would suggest you to consult a general physician and get evaluated and a confirmed diagnosis can help in proper treatment plan..
If required it can be removed surgically under local anaesthesia

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
