Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a lump, about size of 4 pinheads, on the lower part of the bottom lip, just off centre, it appears white when touched, or skin stretched over it. It throbs occasionally. I have had it for a couple of weeks now, thought at one stage it did improve. I thought/think it could be a blister caused from brushing teeth with non dominate hand.
As per your complain a lump on the lower lip hat is tender and turns white when touched can be due to causes like an inflamed and infected gland while can also be due to bacterial [staph] infection.. It can also be due to bug bite.. I would suggest you to start doing alternate warm and cool compresses over it.. Apply a combination of steroid and antibiotic ointment over it.. Avoid touching it again and again with fingers or tongue.. In case if it still does not improve consult an Oral Physician or a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigations like microscopy of scraping from the lump or FNAC can help in diagnosis and treatment will be planned accordingly..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora
