Hi, I have a few questions about nose swelling. My nose has been swollen for a long time now & I don t know how to make the swelling go away? It s been bleeding & it hurts a little bit. How all this happened was my cat scratched me a couple of times in the nose & it would bleed & not only that but I ve got hit in the nose a couple of times also. When it started to swell up I would pinch it but this only made it worse. & now I can t even touch my nose cause if I do it starts to bleed again & I can t blew it either cause blood will come out of it. So I just want to know how can I get rid of the swelling & can a cortisone shot be injected into my nose to bring down the swelling? Or can nasal spray help? Cause my nose swelling hasn t gone down but only has gotten worse & it s stressing me out. So when someone has a swollen nose that doesn t go down what should they do? Please help, Thanks.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Read and understood your history of swelling and bleeding from the nose and also the history of cat scratch. This may not be related to the cat scratch. The most probable reason would be a mass or a tumor or a cancer inside. I would advise you the following: Get an examination done by an ENT, get a biopsy if feasible, CT or MRI of the nose and sinuses and get a proper diagnosis and plan for the management.
