Suggest Treatment For A Pill Stuck In The Throat

Have a feeling like I have a pill stuck in my throat, but it is not. It started a little after getting out of bed this morning and continuing all day. Been drinking water, etc. Feels like I have phlegm stuck in my throat, like something pushing. Any ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Throat irritation you are experiencing can occur due to microtrauma, upper respiratory infection or allergy.

Detailed history and ENT examination are required at this point to come to a diagnosis.

Please be advised to follow up with your primary provider for necessary evaluation and management.

Meanwhile, you can do warm saline gargle twice daily and take Tylenol if pain develops.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Lekshmi Rita Venugopal, General & Family Physician
