Suggest Treatment For A Pimple On The Face

I had a pimple on my face that was just barely there but stayed there for about a week. One morning i woke up & it was huge, i might have nicked it with my ring while sleeping and well now it is massive, i tried cleaning it with peroxide and using a hot compress but it just seemed too make it more irritateted.. today i cleaned it again and after i took the hot compress off some of the skin came off too creating a bit of a hole.. Now i don t know what to do it no longer looks like a pimple it looks like a cut turned infection

Hello. Thank you for writing to us

This was most likely an acne lesion to start with which subsequently got inflammed Or else it was a boil to begin with which subsequently had gotten worse by trying to manipulate it.
Peroxide probably irritating the area further and should be avoided on face.
If I was the treating doctor I would suggest a course of an Oral antibiotic for a week. My choice would be either flucloxacillin Or cephalexin for a week.
These are prescription antibiotics and therefore I suggest that you talk to your doctor for the needful.
Topically you may use an OTC topical antibacterial e.g 2% mupirocin cream, twice daily for a week.
Don't try to squeeze or manipulate it.
An OTC oral antiinflammatory e,g ibuprofen, once or twice daily, will provide you symptomatic relief from pain.

Regards
