I had a bunch of red dots form on my penis. I went to the hospital and said it was pearly penile papules. They seemed to come and go for a week. Then I noticed a pea sized pink colored spot on the tip of my penis. It got bigger and raised whwn erect. It turned into a scab. I picked the scab and it doesn ooze puss but there is A little bit in the scab. Its been there fornabout two weeks. I took an std test when first diagnosed with PPP and didnt hear anyyjingnfrom the hospital. I'm assuming no news is good news?

Hello,

You have a history of having Pearly penile papules, which is now cured. It is often seen in uncircumcised men due to the accumulation of smegma. Take care of your hygiene.

PPP's are benign & harmless. Not contagious. If you have a tendency of getting it every now & then, get circumcised. However, it will not re-occur if hygiene & cleanliness is properly taken care of.

Do not go for multiple sexual partners & always have safe sex(to avoid genital warts & STI).

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
