Suggest Treatment For A Raised, Red Itchy Patch On The Face

I have a less than a dime sized red patch under my eye socket near my nose (where your sunglasses could rub) it has not gone away in over a year, sometimes it fade, but sun, heat, and some vasodialator foods make it redder, raising bumps and causing itching and tiny pustules. My pharmacist thinks it is a fungus and gave me the athletes foot cream, my dermotologist was at a loss but gave me a bacterial cream which the pharmacist didn t think was the right thing - I ve been using the fungal creme for almost a week and not sure if it is getting better or just not exacerbating it with those things listed above, there are still tiny easily washed off pustuals... what do you think I should do?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
It sounds fungal so I would try the antifungal cream twice a day for at least 6 weeks. If that does not get rid of it then you may need the dermatologist to do a biopsy to figure out the exact cause.
Regards
