My son suffers from schizoid personality. He is on medication, has a doctor who prescribes his meds. Sometimes his behavior is irrational. My question is, he he does something inappropriate, will punishment correct it somehow. I am going to give you an example. In the middle of the night, he will knock on our bedroom door, asked for his father to fix the internet. My husband just retired, in 3 years, I will be retiring. This interrupts our sleep, sometimes, we don t go back to sleep because he woke us up for something stupid. I tell my husband there should be consequences, he says no because we are dealing with someone mentally ill. Please advise
