Suggest Treatment For A Swollen And Painful Bump On The Back
I fell really hard on my back, the lower right side just above my hip, about an hour and a half ago, there s a some swelling and no bruising yet. It aches and burns, hurts more when I push on it, and sporadically spikes across my back and side. Do I need to get it checked out? I am a 18 year old female in relatively good shape, jog regularly. Not much of a medical history.
Painful bump or swelling over right side lower back could be due to hematoma due to soft tissue injury or small boil.
But it needs to be evaluated further by clinical examination and some tests like blood hemogram and ESR to rule out infection. However, clinical examination or inspection of this bump or swelling is the mainstay of our diagnostic approach.
You can apply ice pack application and pain killers with anti-inflammatory (paracetamol 500 mg with ibuprofen 400 mg) and antacids (pantoprazole 40 mg) available over the counter.
If there is some bacterial infection is found out then you will need oral short course of antibiotics.
Consult physician for thoroughly check up and complete treatment.
