Suggest Treatment For A Swollen Lymph Node In The Armpit
Hi I have a swollen lymph gland in my armpit and it was sore for the first few days but the pain has gone, yet the lump is still there but has not increased or decreased in size I have had it for a couple of weeks but have not took any medication ,do you think it is just an infection or could it be related to something else ?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have swollen lymph node in the armpit . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like bacterial or viral infections , fat tissue growths , allergic reactions , fibroadenoma , breast cancer and lymphoma . I would suggest your to consult general practitioner for proper examination . Doctor will examine physically to check the consistency and tenderness . Doctor may also order chest x-ray , take biopsy and blood test . Doctor may prescribe antibactrial ( amoxicillin ) or anti viral ( acyclovir ) along with anti inflammatory . For now apply warm compresses on armpits twice a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
