Suggest Treatment For A Tumor In The Knee

My daughter has just been told she has a tumor in her knee. The doctor said it was benign, but has not done a test other than MRI. He said just to monitor it. But she is in the military and must do PT and running. It causes problems when she hikes. Can the doctor determine that the tumor is benign without further testing?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Usually bone tumors can be guessed by its location weather it is benign or malignant, but biopsy and further work up is necessary to declare it as benign, because bone tumor is associated with bone fracture even though if it benign. Thank you
