Suggest Treatment For A Zit On The Face?

Hello! I have a horrible zit on my chin. I struggle with cystic acne and I m on antibiotics but I ve never had a problem this bad. It started as a hard red bump under the skin. More like a boil I guess. Not it s come to the surface and it has a scab. But under the scab is puss. I ve gotten the puss out about 9 or 10 times now and it just keeps coming back. I ve had it for two weeks and it won t go away. It keeps getting worse. I ve been washing my face twice a day and trying to put medicated acne mask on it over night but it s not killing the infection. It just keeps scabbing up with puss under it. Gross. What should I do?

Hello,
Welcome to healthcare magic,
From your description it could be a sebaceous cyst or a cystic acne. Sebaceous cyst is a sac under the skin which produces cheesy white material which is foul smelling. It requires excision by a plastic surgeon. Sometimes cystic acne can be prolonged like this. In such cases an intralesional injection of low concentration of steroid ( Triamcinolone) can decrease the inflammation and swelling under coer of antibiotics. You should visit your dermatologist for the same. In view of cystic acne , isotretinoin treatment also can be considered. Discuss about that with your dermatologist.
Hope this helped,
Take care.
