Suggest Treatment For Abdominal And Back Pain After Mirena Placement

Hi, I had a baby 3 months and 2 weeks ago. They kept me on petosin because my body was not pushing the blood out properly? I got a Mirena inserted a while back but I am having wide spread abdominal pain with back pain and I have brown discharge every other week sometimes every week then after brown discharge I bleed a lot then it goes away. The abdominal pains are sharp and usually very sudden. I know when I was around 7 weeks pregnant my papsmear came back abnormal and led me to believe I had cervical cancer but ai transferred OBGYNs and the new one said they shouldn t have done the pap while I was pregnant at all.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Get the Mirena removed. It could be infected or your body is reacting to it. Go for other alternatives like OC pills or your husband getting vasectomy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ankit
