I had a miscarriage on 7/7/16 I found out I was pregnant again on 9/4/16. This morning I discovered I was spotting with dark reddish/brown blood and light pink with I wipe myself. I am discomfort in my lower stomach not really cramping feels more like bloating with small cramps very seldom. What should I do. Should I be concern I am having another miscarriage?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Cramps and spotting after a positive pregnancy test may be a sign of miscarriage. On the other hand, almost half of the women that have these symptoms continue with a normal pregnancy, and there is no way to know which is going to go on and which not.

It is important though, that if the pain and bleeding increase, to have a BHCG blood test and a transvaginal ultrasound to rule out an ectopic pregnancy, which is a medical emergency.

I hope this answers your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
