Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Cramps While On Depo Shot

I have been on the depo shot for about a month and a half and have not gotten my period. I just had spotting for about a day and then it stopped. I have also have cramps in my abdomen for about a week and a half now and feel bloated. Could I be pregnant or are these just side affects of the depo shot?

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, the missed period is indicating a pregnancy so you should get your beta hcg test to rule out pregnancy as it is very sensitive test.

However, missed periods and abdominal cramping can be side effects of depo shot but since you got it days ago so these are less likely yo be related.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Saddiq Ulabidin
