Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Discomfort And Pain
I have been experiencing abdominal discomfort/pain for the past two weeks. I currently take Metformin for diabetes (type II) and have frequent bowel movements which has not been abnormal, but suddenly are a very bright green color. This has not happened before. I have been on Metformin for over six monthsand sugar levels were doing well. This discoloration has never happened till two weeks ago and the abdominal pain isn t severe, but constant. Don t know if this can be a side effect of the medication or what. I ve had back pain due to a disc herniation, got injections for it and was taking Gabapentin, Tylenol 4 and Aleve at different times, but again, never this discoloration. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have a wonderful Family Practitioner, but might have to wait to be seen,etc. so I thought I would try this website. Thank you so much.

There are many reasons for abdominal discomfort and pain. As you said its been there for about 2 weeks, even though pain is not severe it should not be ignored.
And I can see you are concerned about it which is a good thing. I suggest you get an ultrasound abdomen done.
Next time you meet your doctor take the USG abdomen results with you, once your doctor sees the results she will suggest you better management advice on the same by knowing underlying cause for the pain and discomfort.
