Suggest Treatment For Abdominal Pain And Diarrhea In A Child

My daughter has had diarrhea for 3 days, bad stomach cramps but little or no fever. 99.5. She is 12. I have only been giving her clear fluids and crackers for the last few days. Should I take her in to the ER? Or do you have a suggestion for the stomach cramping.?

Hello,

Viral gastroenteritis usually resolves in three to five days. So you can have bacterial or parasitic gastroenteritis. Stool routine micro examination and occult blood test are done. The antibiotic course can prescribe. Maintain hydration with lots of water. Vital Z powder can be frequently with water to maintain electrolyte balance.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami
